Joy Kathryn Lanzerotte, MA, Lic Counseling/Psychologist specializing in Integrative Health and Wellness. She is an author, public speaker, former university professor and a yoga teacher over 2 decades. Joy has and continues to purport a diverse yoga background. Residing in St. Louis she was the yoga teacher for the St Louis Symphony Orchestra all the while teaching classes locally. A yoga teacher and trainer @ Avalon Yoga and Art, Palo Alto, CA; teaching @ Stanford Research Institute, EveryBODY Women's Health Center owning her own yoga studio, Menlo Park, CA. She offered diverse classes, private sessions, satsangs and hosted guest teachers.During this time she was a member of Hugger Mugger assessing props, various videos, CD's etc.
She completed her philosophy studies with Carlos Pomeda, Berkeley CA all the while deepening her own studies teacher trainings with Desiree Rumbaugh, Lolly Font, Ben Thomas and Lyn Magee. Her primary teacher then and now is primarily Erich Schiffmann.
Joy's yoga and workshop offering have been offered @ several local and national conferences. She was a regular @ Flagstaff Yoga Festival, offers workshops @ both Bikram Yoga, Flagstaff and Sutras, Prescott AZ. For a semester she taught yoga for diversity, Mesa Community College. As a guest instructor @ health spas in CA she embraced diversity with each body leading her to study and create workshops focusing on FEET and principles of alignment.
In 2008 Joy implemented a yoga program @ Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott AZ for staff, students and faculty. As the yoga teacher for the golf team she facilitated workshops on stress management for all students.
In 2010 Joy was recognized by Arizona Yoga Association as featured teacher of the year. From 2005-2014 she facilitied a fund raiser, 'Yoga for A Cure' for AZ Institute of Breast Health.
She continues to be a member of Yoga for Vets both online counseling and teaching Vets.
As an agent of Change Joy offers private and group sessions on:
CHANGE (imposed or intentional), Stress Management, Cancer, Yoga Therapy, Humor. Joy relocated to N. Phoenix in 2015.
