Mindfulness Meditation


This class is taught by:

Katherine Ryan

Katherine is certified to lead group or private sessions in both Qigong and Tai Chi including the practice areas of ~ meditation, mindfulness, affirmation, visualization, guided imagery, deep relaxation, progressive relaxation, breathing practices and gentle movement.

Sessions are designed to facilitate and engage the relaxation response, thereby maximizing benefits to body, mind and spirit. Qigong practices are rooted in the Chinese Medical Style also known as Healing Qigong. Tai Chi practices are rooted in the simplified, non-lineage format of traditional Tai Chi and performed in Single Form or Temple Style. This style embraces the repetition of movements (rather than sequential movements as performed in short and long form traditions) as an enhanced pathway to cultivating the awareness and flow of Qi / Chi ~ that healing, living energy that exists within us all.

Katherine is truly grateful that some of her best moments in life are spent in the company of her (undoubtedly fully enlightened) canine companion, Bodhi…she also thinks strands of little white lights make everything better…they just do.

Jennifer Martin

Jennifer is a certified Life Coach specializing in women’s health and wellness. She is a graduate of Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program and has been passionate about mindfulness for over fourteen years. After experiencing life altering benefits from her own personal mindfulness practice, Jennifer began teaching mindfulness meditation so that others could also learn to experience the benefits in their own lives.

“When we allow ourselves to release and let go, we return to who we are at the core and we are then able to get a taste of the inner peacefulness that is always there. The more that I practice mindfulness and tap into this inner beauty, the more I want to be in that state throughout my days."

Jennifer grew up in Fairfield, Connecticut and moved to Arizona seven years ago with her husband, their two teenage daughters, and their two miniature dachshunds.

Heidi Parrow

Heidi has served in the Scottsdale community for over 40 years. She worked for the Scottsdale Police Department 1985-2011, retiring at the rank of sergeant working for many years in the training division. After retirement, she went to Bikram training in LA in 2012. She has taught Bikram at over 15 studios throughout the southwest including Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe, Scottsdale, Phoenix, Flagstaff and Albuquerque. In 2014 she returned to school furthering her education at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts earning her 600 hour certificate in advanced yoga and aromatherapy specializing in YIN, Restorative Yoga with Crystal Bowls and Sound Healing. Heidi started her own company Heidi's Holistic Healing, LLC, giving back to those that have served as first responders and the military. She holds ERYT200, RYT500 hour certificates through Yoga Alliance.

Jackie Price

After 25 years in the commercial television industry, helping people to look and feel their best in front of a camera, Jackie now spends her days helping others to look and feel their best in their own skin, in their own lives, every moment of every day. With humor and compassion, she creates a safe space where healing naturally unfolds through self- awareness and acceptance.

Jackie is a facilitator of yoga, yoga therapy, reiki, life coaching, toe reading/soul coaching, sound healing, and meditation.
